E C Drummond have hit the ground running in 2018 as we kick start the strawberry planting season. Set in some 90 hectares of Herefordshire countryside, The Homme Farm in Ross-on-Wye produces over 1600 tonnes of quality soft fruit. As key suppliers to major supermarkets across the UK, E C Drummond prioritise the strawberry planting season to meet the demand.
Quality people
Cultivating quality is at the core of all we do. In order to do this, we know that we need to build more than just a thriving business, we need to build a thriving team. The E C Drummond farms are supervised by highly skilled managers who have a keen eye for detail. They are literally our eyes and ears on the ground, assessing quality and standards every step of the way. We invest in training our teams so that they can use their knowledge and expertise to help improve and perfect both our productivity and our produce.
Quality produce
Successful soft fruit farming is so much more than growing a large crop yield. Our soft fruits need to be full, tasty and nutritious, and this is why we invest heavily in the care and nourishment of the plants. By creating an environment that is favourable for fruit growth, we can promote increased yield production and protect the quality of our crops, which is good news for us and our clients.
Quality protection
As active members of LEAF (Linking Environment and Farming), E C Drummond are committed to working with nature rather than against it. We minimise the use of pesticides wherever possible to protect the surrounding environment and promote sustainable practices across our farms.
