POULTRY
Our broiler farming operation is managed by EC Drummond & Son, ECD Poultry Ltd and Brackley Farms Ltd.
We grow high-quality pullets and cockerels at 27 sites across the UK.
40 years of knowledge and experience
Broiler farming has been a key part of the Drummond family’s business since the early 1980s.
Having started with a single farm, our operation has grown to now include 27 poultry farms across the UK. These are owned and managed by Brackley Farms Ltd, EC Drummond & Son and EC Drummond Poultry Ltd.
We specialise in growing pullets and cockerels for various markets.
Our partnerships with the UK’s largest poultry processors mean our chickens can be found in supermarkets nationwide.
How we work
Bird welfare
We take our responsibility to ensure the welfare of the animals in our care very seriously.
All our staff are highly skilled stockmen and women who pride themselves on delivering high-quality chickens grown in optimum conditions.
Constant monitoring
Conditions within our sheds are closely monitored using state-of-the-art sensors to ensure that temperature, light and CO2 levels remain optimum for bird welfare.
Ongoing maintenance
Our sheds are well maintained and have recently undergone renovations to include perches, welfare equipment and windows to provide natural light.
Regular auditing
We adhere to strict codes of practice and are audited annually in accordance with the British Assured Chicken Standards assessed by CMi Plc. All 27 farms have a high health status and strict biosecurity measures in place to ensure maximum healthy output.
Quality nutrition
Our birds are fed on a compound feed consisting largely of soya and wheat to provide all the nutrients required for a balanced diet and healthy development.
Investing in sustainable practices
We have installed biomass boilers to heat the houses at the majority of our farms.
This substantial upgrade allows us to provide an indirect heat without releasing carbon dioxide and water vapour.
Not only has this created better growing conditions for our birds, it has also allowed us to reduce costs and minimise our carbon footprint.
